This notice explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Last updated 27 August 2026.
1. Who we are
Mods & Hoppers is a trading name of UnBarred Brewery Limited, the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this notice.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- your name, job title, business name, email address, telephone number, and delivery or billing address;
- details of enquiries, orders, deliveries, events, visits, and our correspondence with you;
- account and payment records, although this website does not collect or store payment-card details;
- preferences you choose to share with us; and
- limited technical information recorded by our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and the date and time of a request.
We normally receive this information directly from you. For trade relationships, we may also receive business contact details from your employer, a colleague, an event organiser, or a publicly available business source.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the benefit to our business and customers, whether the use is necessary, and the effect on the people involved. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests as explained below.
4. When we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only where necessary with trusted suppliers that support our website, email, IT, payment, accounting, professional advice, order fulfilment, and delivery services. These suppliers may use the information only to provide services to us and must protect it appropriately.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to regulators or law-enforcement bodies, in connection with legal proceedings, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business.
5. International transfers
Some technology suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we require an appropriate safeguard, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or an approved UK addendum to standard contractual clauses. You can contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.
6. How long we keep information
- General enquiries: normally up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
- Customer, supplier, order, invoice, and payment records: normally seven years after the end of the relevant financial year or relationship.
- Marketing records: until you opt out or we decide the details are no longer current. We may keep a minimal suppression record so we can respect an opt-out.
- Website security logs: normally up to 12 months, unless needed for an investigation or legal claim.
We may keep information for longer where law, regulation, an active dispute, or the establishment or defence of legal claims requires it. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.
7. Cookies and local storage
This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. It stores one preference, mh-cookie-ok, in your browser's local storage after you dismiss the cookie notice. This prevents the notice appearing on every visit and remains until you clear your browser data.
You can remove this preference through your browser settings. Blocking or clearing it will not stop the website working, but the notice may appear again.
8. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of your information; correct inaccurate information; delete information; restrict how it is used; receive certain information in a portable format; or object to processing.
You have the right to object at any time to direct marketing and to processing based on our legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful use.
To exercise a right, email hello@modsandhoppers.com. We may need to confirm your identity before responding. Data protection rights are not absolute, and we will explain if an exemption applies. We normally respond within one month.
9. Complaints
Please contact us first if you have concerns so we can try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, through ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.
10. Security, children, and automated decisions
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information and limit access to people who need it for their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Our products and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website. We do not use personal information collected through this website for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
11. Changes to this notice
We review this notice when our services or legal obligations change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its updated date. If a change would materially affect how we use information already collected, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to the attention of the people affected.
